If you play online games, chances are you’ve heard of Defense of the Ancients or its sister games, Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends. You may have even tried it; and you probably quit after a week or two due to the mythically oppressive nature of the community and the vertical learning curve. DotA 2 is here to solve that problem, and to bring a game from its humble beginnings as a custom map in Warcraft III to a fully supported Valve title under the watchful eye of the legendary Icefrog himself.
