Like its predecessor Dead Space 2 does an amazing job in immersing the player into a very creepy world. There is no shortage of heart pounding moments or long drawn out silences to build up tension. Visceral Games has turned creating mind bending thrillers into a science, which they are without out a doubt among the few to perfect.

As you would expect living in Tokyo has its perks: 24 hour karaoke, unlimited sushi and of course the Tokyo Game Show (TGS). This year I decided to take the 2 hour trek across town to TGS and to take a look at the latest and greatest in Xbox and PC peripherals and games.

BioWare collected a lot of anonymous data from users while they played through their Mass Effect 2 role-playing game and has released some interesting numbers. 50% of players imported a save game from the original, 80% were soldiers, and the average completion time was 33 hours — just to name a few.

Seamlessly blending Gears of War, Lost Planet, and even Bayonetta, Platinum Games Vanquish still was one of the freshest and most exciting titles we saw at E3. In this third person action shooter the creators at Platinum Games look to bring their vision of an action shooter to the homes of PS3 and Xbox 360 owners. From what we saw, Vanquish is going to be worth the cash when it is released later this year.

I am sure I won’t be the first or last to say that a lot of people have been waiting a long time for this day. After several let downs in the Sonic genre most of us have been chomping at the bit for a game that was on par with 1994 side scrolling days. Over sixteen years later Sonic fans may finally be able to rejoice that their hero has been done some proper justice in a game befitting his speed and style. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is the nostalgia that all of the very lost Sonic fans have been looking for.

As I stood in line for my five minute demo of Twisted Metal, I fondly remembered the countless hours spent at parties playing the original games on the now forgotten PSone. The game has since changed, but the spirit of unapologetic violence and mayhem lives on in the latest installment.
